What is the Revolution Church?
Currently, the Revolution Church is an idea. Around 2 years ago it was a church plant started in Florence. The church plant did not succeed, and closed its doors. Since I knew the pastor, I was able to pick up the domain name.
Right now I am planting the Journey Church of Aiken. When choosing a name for this new church, I was not aware that "Journey" was one of the most popular names for new churches. I really wanted to change the name to Revolution Church, but the corporate papers were already signed, EIN numbers assigned, graphics created, and some name recognition taking place.
Therefore, I guess, Revolution Church is the next church that I plant, or that the Journey Church plants. Why the name "Revolution?" Simple. When someone becomes a follower of Christ, a revolution takes place within the new believer. A worldview change is undergone. The Old is gone and the new is ushered in. All in life becomes subservient to the relationship one has with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
In my own life in my twenties, I experienced a spiritual and physical revolution when I had direct contact with the Lord of the Universe as I read the Bible. Many things in life I thought were of utmost importance I no longer valued. Likewise, there were other things that I really didn't care about, but as I read the Bible, I began to value some new things.
